FAQ
What counts as a podiatric emergency?
Signs you need same-day care: sudden severe foot or ankle pain, an open wound, signs of infection (redness spreading from a wound, warmth, swelling, pus), a suspected fracture, a diabetic foot ulcer, or inability to bear weight on your foot or ankle.
Can I walk in without an appointment?
We strongly recommend calling ahead at (312) 701-0770 so we can hold a same-day slot. Walk-ins are accommodated when possible at our Downtown Chicago location, subject to physician availability.
Do you treat diabetic foot emergencies?
Yes — diabetic patients receive priority same-day scheduling. Foot wounds, infections, and ulcers in diabetic patients can progress to serious complications rapidly. Do not wait for a routine appointment.
What are your weekend hours for urgent foot care?
Our Downtown Chicago office is open Saturday 10am–2pm for urgent appointments. Call (312) 701-0770 Saturday morning — we will do our best to fit you in.
Will insurance cover a same-day podiatry visit?
Same-day visits are billed the same as any other podiatry appointment. We accept most major insurance plans including Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, United Healthcare, Cigna, Medicare, and Humana. Our billing team verifies your benefits before your visit at no charge.
