Ingrown Nail
Your big toenail looks puffy. Red. Maybe a little pus comes out. Don’t be worried, we are not here to judge you. We can help.
What’s happening? Well it looks like you have a little ingrown nail infection? What does that mean? Well it means that your nail is growing in to the side of the nail fold, and irritating you while doing it. And why does it release pus? you might ask. Well, that pus happens when the skin is cut by the ingrowing nail and bacteria is introduced.
Our doctors at Michigan Avenue Podiatry can help to treat the problem as it happens, and make sure that it doesn’t happen in the future. Our doctors can treat the infection, get rid of the offending nail border, and do a procedure that can help to remove that part of the nail entirely, so it doesn’t grow back in the future. The nail looks absolutely normal at a glance, but the ingrowing nail border is removed.
That is relief.
